End of Contract

Overview

An end-of-contract settlement brings together the crew member's final salary, notice arrangements, leave and relevant adjustments. Departure from the vessel and the end of paid employment are not necessarily the same date.

  • Temporary crew on a day-rate contract can be included.
  • Contractors are not crew and never appear in end-of-contract settlements.

Check The Settlement Dates

1

Select the crew member

Open Payroll → End of Contract, choose Initiate EOC Process, then select the crew member whose employment is ending.

2

Confirm the notice and departure dates

Check the termination-effective date, repatriation date and any travel days.

3

Review the resulting end date

The end date is whichever is later: repatriation plus travel days, or the end of notice plus travel days.

End of Contract

Notice Worked Or Not Worked

Notice Period (Days) defaults from vessel settings, using the probation or standard arrangement. Check it against the actual agreement.

1

Choose how notice was served

Under Was the notice worked?, choose Worked until repatriation date, Not worked (served off the vessel), or Partly worked (enter days).

2

Check days worked

Partly worked lets you enter Days Worked (During Notice).

3

Review the unworked portion

Days Served (Not Worked) shows the remaining notice days.

4

Explain the arrangement

Use Notice Period Comment for context such as an agreed early release.

The summary clearly separates notice worked from notice not worked.

Review Salary, Leave And Adjustments

  • Review final salary and the notice-period treatment.
  • Check accrued leave, leave already taken and any resulting payout or deduction.
  • Review outstanding reimbursements and deductions.
  • Check repatriation and travel-day treatment separately from leave.

Temporary Crew Paid By The Day

A temporary day-rate crew member is charged only for the days they actually worked, at their recorded daily rate — not a monthly salary.

Final Review And Records

1

Check the breakdown

Review the dates, notice split, salary, leave and adjustments before producing the final document.

2

Resolve differences

Correct the underlying information before accepting the result.

3

Save or submit

Choose Save Draft, Submit For Approval or Initiate EOC, according to the controls shown.

4

Review pending settlements

Drafts & Awaiting Approval holds settlements not yet applied. Where authorised, choose Initiate or Approve & Initiate. Pending settlements do not update the crew record or calendar.

5

Keep the reviewed record

Use the settlement-document controls (EOC PDF) and follow the yacht's signature and retention process.
