Crew Cabin Assignment

Review accommodation, maintain cabin rules and manage cabin movements.

Where to find it:Crew Management → Cabin Movements

Overview

Crew accommodation is managed within Crew Management. The accommodation workspace has Layout, Move Plan and Setup & Rules tabs.

  • Layout shows the cabin arrangement and assignments.
  • Move Plan supports reviewing planned cabin changes.
  • Setup & Rules holds the accommodation configuration used for planning.

Who Can Use It

All HODs
Can view and amend Cabin Movements. This is not limited to the Interior HOD.
2nd Stew
Can view and amend Cabin Movements, even with ordinary crew access.
Captain, Purser and administrators
Can manage accommodation through the controls available to their account.
Other crew
View only — they do not receive accommodation-management rights simply because they can open Crew Management.

Layout

Review The Layout

1

Open Cabin Movements

Choose the accommodation tab in Crew Management, then open Layout.

2

Check the relevant date

Use the date and preview controls provided to inspect the assignments relevant to the period you are planning.

3

Review occupancy

Check occupied and available berths against the people expected aboard. An empty berth on one date does not establish availability for a whole stay.

Review arrival, departure and handover dates before changing accommodation.

Setup & Rules

Maintain Cabins And Rules

Use Setup & Rules to maintain the accommodation information used by the planner. Check the physical cabin and bed arrangement before changing its configuration.

  • Keep cabin names and bed arrangements consistent with the actual vessel.
  • Review sharing restrictions and any position-related accommodation rules.
  • Check existing assignments before removing or changing configured accommodation.

Setup & Rules

Sharing Constraints

Accommodation planning includes crew relationships and restrictions, such as couples and people who cannot share. Keep these accurate before reviewing a plan.

1

Review the people affected

Check that the rule refers to the correct crew members rather than relying on similar names.

2

Check the practical effect

Compare the restriction with available cabins and the dates both people are aboard.

3

Resolve conflicts

Review any unresolved allocation rather than assuming a generated plan has satisfied every operational requirement.

Move Plan

Review And Amend Cabin Movements

1

Open Move Plan

Review the planned changes for the relevant period alongside the Layout view.

2

Amend the assignment

Use the available assignment controls to change the berth or dates. Where a control depends on an active plan, select the appropriate plan first.

3

Check the result

Review both the old and new cabin, affected crew and surrounding dates after saving.

Tell affected crew about operational changes; changing the plan is not a substitute for a clear handover.
A cabin allocation is not, by itself, proof that all accommodation regulations are satisfied.
